Gurpreet Singh :- Punjab Police have intensified their investigation into the incident at Majitha police station in Amritsar by constituting 12 special teams to identify and arrest those involved. As part of the ongoing probe, police personnel on Monday visited the residence of senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia.
The incident occurred on Sunday when a large number of supporters gathered outside the police station, leading to heightened tensions in the area. According to police allegations, the crowd forcibly secured the release of a person who was in police custody.
Treating the matter as serious, the police launched an immediate investigation and initiated raids at multiple locations. Officials said efforts are underway to identify all accused persons named in the FIR and those captured in available evidence. The special teams have been assigned specific responsibilities to track down suspects, while police have reiterated that strict action will be taken against anyone found taking the law into their own hands.
