After Tiger Shroff Firing Incident, Sidhu Moosewala’s Father’s Warning Against Gangsterism Resurfaces

Sidhu Moosewala's Father Balkaur Singh To Contest 2027 Punjab Assembly Polls in Pursuit of Justice

Chandigarh (Gurpreet Singh): The reported firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai has brought renewed attention to a past warning by Balkaur Singh, father of slain Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, about the wider threat posed by gangsterism.

Reacting to the incident, a statement attributed to Balkaur Singh has drawn attention for its stark message about the consequences of remaining silent in the face of violence.

He quoted the Hindi lines: “लगेगी आग तो आएंगे घर कई जद में, यहां पे सिर्फ हमारा मकान थोड़ी है” — a couplet conveying that when a fire spreads, it does not remain confined to one house.

The message has been interpreted as a call for collective concern, suggesting that violence affecting one person or family can eventually threaten others as well.

Tiger Shroff’s reported brush with danger has renewed debate over the safety of celebrities and the challenge of tackling organised criminal activity. Balkaur Singh’s words have also revived discussions about whether society should speak out more firmly against threats, extortion and gang-related violence rather than treating each incident as an isolated matter.

Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead in Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29, 2022. His killing sparked widespread outrage and intensified public concern about gangster networks and security.

The latest incident has once again underlined the need for effective investigations, accountability and coordinated action against criminal networks. Any connection between individual firing cases, however, must be established through evidence and official investigations.
