Gurpreet Singh :- Panic gripped an industrial unit in Ludhiana after a suspected toxic gas leak at a spanner-manufacturing factory claimed the lives of a father and son and left several workers affected. The incident occurred during the night shift when employees were carrying out routine work inside the factory premises.
According to eyewitnesses, gas allegedly began leaking from a pipeline or cylinder and quickly spread across the facility. The fumes reportedly engulfed the work area within minutes, leaving workers struggling to breathe. Several employees collapsed on the spot, while others suffered severe irritation and breathing difficulties.
The deceased have been identified as Maan Singh and his son Amit, who were reportedly engaged in loading industrial waste when the tragedy struck. Family members alleged that they were not informed about the incident and learned of the deaths only after reaching the hospital. They also accused the factory management of negligence, claiming no representative had contacted or visited the family after the accident.
Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances leading to the leak, while the condition of several affected workers remains under medical observation.
