Gurpreet Singh :- Jagtar Singh Hawara, convicted in the former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh assassination case, has approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking four weeks’ parole on humanitarian grounds. In his petition, Hawara stated that he wished to take care of his ailing mother, who is suffering from multiple age-related ailments. National Times Bureau :- Punjab police in joint operation with the Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a large quantity of heroin and weapons near Indo-Pak border in Amritsar. The recovered heroine has been allegedly smuggled from Pakistan which is estimated to be worth around Rs 125 crore in the international market. According to officials, security agencies had received credible information about drug and arms smuggling in the border area.
