Jagtar Singh Hawara moves High Court seeking four-week parole to care for ailing mother

Gurpreet Singh :- Jagtar Singh Hawara, convicted in the former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh assassination case, has approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking four weeks’ parole on humanitarian grounds. In his petition, Hawara stated that he wished to take care of his ailing mother, who is suffering from multiple age-related ailments. Hawara submitted before the court that he has been lodged in jail for the past 28 years and nine months and had never earlier applied for parole.
