Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): The Haryana government has granted administrative approval for various health infrastructure projects worth approximately Rs 423.48 lakh (Rs 4.23 crore) to strengthen healthcare facilities in rural and urban areas.
Health, Medical Education and AYUSH Minister Aarti Singh Rao announced the approvals on October 22, saying the projects would provide permanent buildings to sub-health centres currently operating without dedicated premises or from panchayat buildings and other locations.
The approved works include the construction of six sub-health centre buildings, a new primary health centre in Nuh district, and infrastructure improvements at the Community Health Centre in Rania, Sirsa district.
According to the minister, the projects form part of the state’s efforts to expand and improve healthcare infrastructure during the 2026-27 financial year.
Which Districts Will Get New Sub-Health Centre Buildings?
New buildings have been approved for six sub-health centres across Bhiwani, Palwal and Jind districts.
The locations are:
- Bhiwani: Rajgarh and Kalinga-II villages
- Palwal: Mangorka and Gadpuri villages
- Jind: Devrad and Dharoli villages
Rao said the six sub-health centres already had the required human resources and were fully operational. The new buildings are intended to provide permanent, purpose-built premises for their existing services.
The buildings will follow standard designs prepared by the state Architecture Department in accordance with the Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS), 2022. Each building will have a planned area of 187.60 square metres.
The standardised designs are intended to provide appropriate infrastructure for the delivery of primary healthcare services at the local level.
New Primary Health Centre Approved For Nuh
The state government has also approved the construction of a new primary health centre in Sakras village in Nuh district.
The proposed facility is part of the broader plan to strengthen access to healthcare in rural areas. The government said the construction projects were aimed at making health services more accessible to residents closer to their homes.
The announcement did not specify a completion deadline or provide a separate cost breakdown for the Sakras primary health centre.
Sirsa Community Health Centre To Get Infrastructure Upgrades
In addition to the new buildings, the approved projects include landfilling and the installation of interlocking pavement blocks for the Block Public Health Unit (BPHU) at the Community Health Centre in Rania, Sirsa district.
The work is intended to improve the infrastructure around the facility and support its operational requirements.
The government has not provided a separate allocation for the Rania works in the announcement.
Haryana Plans Further Health Infrastructure Development In 2026-27
Rao said the state government had made budgetary provisions for constructing new healthcare institutions during the 2026-27 financial year.
She said completing the approved works would strengthen the state’s healthcare infrastructure and improve access to medical services, particularly for rural residents.
The latest approvals cover a mix of new facilities and upgrades to existing healthcare infrastructure. Their impact will depend on timely construction, the availability of staff and equipment, and the delivery of services once the buildings are ready.
