Chandigarh (Naval Kishore): In a significant push to promote citizen participation in Census 2027, Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda, Director General of Police, UT Chandigarh, successfully completed his self-enumeration through the official online Census portal on Friday.
The process was facilitated by Dr. Navjot Khosa, Director, Directorate of Census Operations, UT Chandigarh, along with Khushpreet Kaur, SDM (Central), UT Chandigarh. By personally undertaking the self-enumeration process, the DGP demonstrated the ease, accessibility, and security of the digital platform. He emphasized that such citizen-centric initiatives not only simplify the enumeration process but also enhance transparency and accuracy in national data collection.

Dr. Hooda further appealed to all police personnel and the general public to actively participate in Census 2027 by utilizing the self-enumeration facility. He highlighted that timely and accurate data submission is essential for effective policymaking, efficient allocation of resources, and strengthening governance systems. Self-enumeration, a key feature of Census 2027, allows individuals to conveniently submit their demographic and socio-economic details online from the comfort of their homes. This modern approach significantly reduces the need for physical interaction while improving efficiency, coverage, and data reliability.
Authorities have urged residents across Chandigarh to take full advantage of this facility and contribute actively to the success of Census 2027. Widespread participation will play a crucial role in building a comprehensive and credible national database, essential for informed decision-making and future development planning.
