Anna Hazare Under Medical Care in Mumbai After Viral Illness, Dehydration

Mumbai (Rajeev Sharma): Social activist Anna Hazare, 89, is receiving treatment at a Mumbai hospital after being diagnosed with a viral infection and acute dehydration, according to his aide.

Hazare was brought to Bombay Hospital in south Mumbai on Monday after initially undergoing treatment at a hospital in Ahilyanagar district. He was shifted to the city for further medical evaluation and care.

Doctors at Bombay Hospital are currently assessing his health in detail. The medical team is expected to decide on the next line of treatment after reviewing the results of the examinations and his overall condition.

Shifted After Initial Treatment

Hazare had first been admitted to a hospital in Ahilyanagar after falling ill. Following the initial medical care, he was transferred to Mumbai, where specialists are now monitoring his condition.

His aide said the doctors are carrying out a comprehensive assessment to determine the appropriate treatment going forward.

Condition Being Monitored

At present, Hazare is under medical supervision for the viral infection and dehydration. No further details regarding the severity of the infection, his response to treatment or the likely duration of his hospital stay have been made public.
