Chennai (Gurpreet Singh): Former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni visited the National Security Guards (NSG) regional centre in Chennai, where he displayed impressive shooting skills during a target practice session at the tactical range.
The legendary wicketkeeper-batsman was seen handling a sub-machine gun and a pistol with notable precision, with visuals of his firing drill quickly going viral across social media platforms. Fans praised Dhoni’s calm composure and accuracy, once again highlighting his well-known admiration for India’s armed and security forces.
During his visit, the 44-year-old cricket icon spent time interacting with elite NSG commandos and their families. In a light-hearted conversation, Dhoni jokingly asked personnel whether he still looked fit. The commandos responded enthusiastically, telling him he appeared even fitter than during his previous visit.
Dhoni had earlier visited the NSG facility in 2023 as well. Reflecting on fitness and age, he reportedly remarked that maintaining peak physical condition now requires far greater effort and dedication with the passage of time.
His appearance at the NSG complex comes at a time when speculation continues over his possible return for Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing Indian Premier League season.
Although Dhoni remains an important part of the CSK squad, he has not featured in any match so far this season due to a lingering injury concern. With Chennai set to play its final home league-stage match today, fans are eagerly hoping to see the former captain return to the field.
