Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Cooperation Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma stated on Sunday, April 12, 2026, that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, is committed to procuring every single grain of the farmers’ produce at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). During a surprise inspection of the Gohana Grain Market, the Minister reviewed the ongoing wheat procurement process and directed administrative officials to ensure that farmers and commission agents (arhtiyas) do not face any inconvenience during the season.
The Minister personally inspected the weighing and measuring of wheat heaps in the Mandi and issued clear instructions to the Market Committee and procurement agencies, including Haryana State Warehousing Corporation and HAFED. He emphasized that the entire process—from biometric gate passes to procurement and lifting—must be carried out with complete transparency. Dr. Sharma specifically noted that timely lifting of the procured wheat is crucial to avoid congestion in the market yards.
