Society Must Advance by Following the Ideals of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar: Minister Shyam Singh Rana

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana stated that Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar presented an exemplary model of social service, public welfare, and good governance that continues to inspire people centuries later. Speaking as the chief guest at a programme organized at the Pal Dharamshala in Arjun Nagar, Yamunanagar, to mark the 301st birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, the Minister emphasized that society must progress by adopting her ideals in the fields of education, organization, and service.

The Minister highlighted that Devi Ahilyabai prioritised public interest above all else during her reign, and her principles remain a beacon of inspiration for contemporary society. To support this vision practically at the grassroots level, the Minister announced a financial grant for the establishment of a library within the Pal Dharamshala premises. This library framework is designed to provide better study facilities for local students and youth, significantly assisting them in their preparation for various competitive examinations. Prominent local figures including Rajindra Dhiman, Nar Singh Pal, and Gyan Chand Padwar were also present on the occasion.
