Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini launched a sharp attack on the Congress party on Tuesday, alleging that its political track record has consistently prioritized vote-bank arithmetic over the genuine welfare of youth, Dalits, and backward classes. Addressing journalists at Haryana Niwas in Chandigarh, Saini asserted that Congress has historically used underprivileged and Scheduled Caste communities for political leverage without delivering meaningful empowerment. He cited the treatment of former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi as evidence of this approach, claiming that after guiding Punjab Congress through challenging circumstances, Channi was sidelined by the party leadership in a manner that disrespects Dalit society.
Shifting focus to administrative integrity and recruitment practices, Chief Minister Saini contrasted the current central government’s response to examination leaks with the performance of opposition-ruled states. He highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration acted decisively against competitive paper leak incidents by enacting stringent legislation, ensuring transparent recruitment processes, and establishing strict accountability to protect the career prospects of young aspirants. In contrast, Saini questioned the political consistency of both Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) regarding recruitment irregularities in Punjab. He specifically cited a recent pharmacy examination paper leak and questioned why the Punjab Assembly did not pass a censure motion on its domestic exam lapses, calling out senior AAP leadership for remaining silent despite past promises of ministerial resignations over paper leaks.
Addressing employment generation and sports promotion in Haryana, Saini defended the double-engine government’s merit-based recruitment system while accusing opposition-backed elements of acting as a “recruitment obstruction gang” attempting to delay transparent hiring drives through litigious hurdles. Furthermore, the Chief Minister announced that the Haryana government will soon organize a formal felicitation ceremony for athletes returning from the Commonwealth Games, attributing the state’s medal tally to robust sports policies and over 2,000 ground-level sports nurseries established across districts.
Reiterating his administration’s commitment to governance reforms, Saini emphasized a strict zero-tolerance policy toward corruption. He announced that any government official or employee found involved in corruption inquiries will face immediate administrative action and will be barred from receiving posts within the same district or position. The Chief Minister maintained that strict enforcement mechanisms will continue to be applied uniformly without compromise to uphold institutional integrity.
