Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini presided over the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee meeting in Sirsa on Saturday, directly hearing public issues and ordering swift administrative actions. Out of 16 official complaints taken up during the session, 13 matters were resolved on the spot. Saini issued stringent directives to administrative heads, warning that procedural laxity and bureaucratic delays in addressing citizen concerns would invite immediate accountability.
Addressing housing and consumer issues, the Chief Minister took up a petition by Chattargarh Patti resident Vijay Kumar regarding unfulfilled flat possession in Sector-21 despite full payment. Noting severe deficiencies in fundamental civic amenities like water, electricity, and sewage connections, Saini ordered authorities to issue a full refund with interest according to the complainant’s preference, clear all pending refund claims within a month, and probe official negligence. In another case concerning crop insurance under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Saini directed officials to rectify technical bottlenecks and release overdue cotton crop compensation of ₹76,960 to Kanwarpura farmer Ramgopal.
The session also addressed bureaucratic negligence and administrative irregularities across various state bodies. Saini directed the Deputy Commissioner to initiate an inquiry against officials responsible for keeping an inquiry into a disability certificate pending for a year and a half. Reviewing quality rejection disputes raised by the Kariwala milk cooperative against the Sirsa milk processing unit, the Chief Minister instructed strict action against the former chief executive officer.
For civic and police disputes, Saini ordered the Superintendent of Police to conduct direct personal hearings to resolve assault allegations raised by local residents. He also constituted an inquiry panel headed by the Additional Deputy Commissioner to resolve access road grievances in Sector-19 and ordered an investigation into civic council officials in Dabwali over inaccurate compliance reporting concerning grain market plantation work. The review session was attended by former Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal, Sirsa Deputy Commissioner Shantanu Sharma, former MP Sunita Duggal, and key local administrative officials.
