Digital Trail Tightens Around Pune Murder Case; Investigators Recover Fresh Evidence Against Accused Couple

Pune

Pune (Rajeev Sharma): The investigation into the murder of Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal has gathered fresh momentum after police uncovered new digital evidence that allegedly links the two accused to a carefully coordinated conspiracy before the crime.

Officials investigating the case have identified a phone conversation between Siya Goyal and her alleged partner, Chetan Chaudhary, that took place less than an hour before Agarwal’s death at Lohagad Fort. Investigators believe the call could prove significant in reconstructing the events that unfolded shortly before the alleged murder.

According to police sources, forensic experts are now examining mobile phone records, tower locations and internet activity to determine the exact movements of both accused on the day of the incident. The technical analysis is expected to help investigators establish whether the two remained in constant contact while executing the alleged plan.

Authorities have also begun efforts to retrieve deleted conversations from social media applications and messaging platforms. Investigators suspect that several chats, voice notes and media files were erased in an attempt to destroy evidence after the crime. Cyber forensic teams are attempting to restore the deleted data, which could become a crucial part of the prosecution’s case.

Police believe the alleged conspiracy did not develop overnight. Preliminary findings indicate that the accused had been discussing ways to end Agarwal’s life for several weeks before the fatal incident. Investigators are also examining evidence suggesting an earlier attempt to kill him at the same tourist destination had failed.

The murder initially appeared to be an accidental fall from the fort. However, inconsistencies in witness statements and technical evidence prompted investigators to probe deeper, eventually leading to the arrest of Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary.

Meanwhile, police are also questioning family members, friends and other individuals connected to the accused to understand the sequence of events leading to the killing. Investigators have reportedly gathered extensive call records and communication history between the two accused spanning several months.

Officials maintain that the forensic investigation remains underway and additional digital evidence is expected to be presented before the court as the case progresses. Both accused continue to face charges related to murder and criminal conspiracy, while investigators work to establish the complete chain of events surrounding Ketan Agarwal’s death.
