The Technical Education Department designed these courses keeping in view the present and future requirements of changing industries, emerging technologies, and skill-based job roles. Dhanda stated that in this era of rapid technological advancement, youth must possess specialized skills that enhance their immediate employability.
The new curriculum introduces highly specialized programs, including Electronics Engineering (VLSI Design and Technology), Cyber Forensics and Information Security, Telecommunication Engineering, and Artificer Training (Electrical). Courses in Environmental Engineering, Geo-Informatics and Surveying Technology, Electrical Engineering and Electric Vehicle Technology, Technician X-Ray Technology, Journalism and Mass Communication, Sugar Technology, and Apparel Design and Fashion Technology will also be introduced.
Each of these newly introduced courses will accommodate an intake of 60 students. The Minister emphasized that this initiative aligns with the National Education Policy-2020 (NEP-2020) and Industry 4.0 standards, aiming to provide practical, employment-centric education in green technology, digital security, healthcare, and electric mobility. This strategic expansion is expected to bridge the skill gap, significantly boosting youth employment while generating a skilled workforce for industries within the state.
