Straw-Laden Truck Overturns on Car in Jhajjar, Five Killed

National Times Bureau :- A tragic road accident claimed five lives in Haryana’s Jhajjar district on Tuesday night when a truck loaded with straw overturned onto a moving car near Silani village. The incident occurred around 8 pm, leaving the car completely crushed under the weight of the truck and its cargo. All five occupants of the car died on the spot.

Police and emergency response teams rushed to the scene soon after receiving information. The car was trapped beneath a large heap of straw, making rescue operations extremely challenging. A JCB machine was deployed to remove the debris, and cutters were used to slice open the vehicle’s roof to retrieve the bodies. The rescue operation lasted nearly an hour.

The deceased have been identified as 55-year-old Ghanshyam Kishore, a shuttering engineer, along with four labourers — Janardan Verma, brothers Akhilesh and Jaiveer from Sambhal district, and a youth identified as Pinku. They were returning to Jhajjar after completing work at a construction site.

The bodies have been sent to the civil hospital for post-mortem. Police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident.
