Calgary (Rajeev Sharma) : The Hindu Society of Calgary has expressed profound sorrow and strong condemnation in response to the recent terrorist attacks in Jammu & Kashmir, which resulted in the loss of innocent lives and disrupted the regional peace. In a conversation with National Times, Rakesh Punj, President of the Hindu Society of Calgary, stated, “We are deeply shocked and saddened by the recent terrorist attacks in Jammu & Kashmir, which have once again targeted innocent lives and disturbed the peace of our nation. As members of the global Hindu community, our hearts go out to the victims, their families, and all those affected by this senseless act of violence.”

He further emphasized the core teachings of Hindu Dharma, including ahimsa (non-violence), karuna (compassion), and dharma (righteousness), highlighting the importance of standing united against terrorism in all its forms. “While we grieve this tragedy, we also stand united in our firm resolve against terrorism. No nation should have to bear the pain of repeated attacks on its people and sovereignty,” Punj said. “We pray for peace, healing, and wisdom, that good may rise even in times of darkness.” Punj concluded, “The Hindu Society of Calgary urges everyone to stand together as one. Om Shanti. Jai Hind.”
The organization called upon the broader community to remain united and continue working toward a more secure, compassionate, and harmonious world.
