Uttarakhand (Rajeev Sharma): A major security operation was launched at the Uttarakhand-Himachal Pradesh border after a group of Nihang Sikhs attempting to travel towards Hemkund Sahib crossed police barricades at the Kulhal checkpoint, leading to a brief confrontation with security personnel. Authorities had already heightened surveillance in the Vikasnagar region following intelligence inputs that members of the group, travelling from Punjab, intended to enter Uttarakhand.
