Sources also say the longtime environmental advocate may resign as MP for the Montreal riding of Laurier–Sainte–Marie, though plans could still change. Guilbeault, who represented the riding since 2019, reportedly resigned from cabinet last year over disagreements with the government’s energy policies, including support for a new Alberta-to-West Coast pipeline and changes to environmental assessment rules.
