ITBP DIG and Driver Killed in Fatal Highway Collision in Saharanpur

Saharanpur (Gurpreet Singh): An Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and his driver were killed, while four others sustained injuries after their vehicle hit a road divider and collided head-on with an oncoming car in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur district. The fatal accident occurred on the Dehradun-Panchkula National Highway within the Sarsawa police station limits as the officer’s vehicle was travelling towards Ambala in Haryana following the completion of a training program in Mussoorie. Ganderbal, J&K: A major accident was averted in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday after a bus carrying personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) skidded off the road and fell into the Sindh river at Kullan in Ganderbal district amid heavy rainfall, officials said. All security personnel on board were successfully rescued. However, the driver of the bus sustained injuries and was immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment.
