Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh) — Haryana Health, Medical Education, and AYUSH Minister Arti Singh Rao presented a series of local infrastructure and healthcare development projects to rural pockets of the Rewari region on Saturday. Addressing a public gathering in Kakodia village, the minister inaugurated several development works completed under the Zila Parishad Scheme and laid the foundation stone for a new sub-health centre building in Kakodia, being constructed at an estimated cost exceeding ₹55 lakh.
Speaking to local residents at the event, Rao asserted that rural development remains among the core priorities of the state administration. The government continues to execute essential civic projects to fortify basic amenities in rural areas, ensuring that villagers have direct access to improved public utilities and civic spaces within their own localities rather than depending on distant urban hubs. She noted that developing structured drainage networks and upgrading common spaces are crucial steps toward enhancing the overall quality of village life.
The minister pointed out that the newly unveiled projects are directly tied to the everyday necessities of rural residents. Key works include laying pipelines for wastewater drainage, building boundary walls around community ponds and cremation grounds, and erecting tin sheds and public community halls (chaupals). Highlighting the newly initiated sub-health centre, Rao emphasized that decentralizing healthcare services is essential for regional progress, ensuring local populations can access basic medical care and diagnostic assistance at the village level once the facility becomes fully functional.
Reiterating the administration’s inclusive governance approach, Rao noted that state development initiatives are not confined to cities, but are being systematically deployed across rural areas in direct alignment with community feedback. Several local representatives and administrative figures were present on the occasion, including Zila Parishad Chairman Manoj Yadav, Rewari Municipal Council Chairperson Vinita Peepal, Dharuhera Municipal Committee Chairman Ajay Jangra, local leader Anil Raipur, alongside residents from surrounding villages.
