Punjab Police Intensifies Probe Into Viral Audio Clip Linked to MP Raja Warring

Gurpreet Singh :- Punjab Police has stepped up its investigation into the alleged viral audio clip linked to Ludhiana Member of Parliament Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, with senior officials appearing before the Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes in connection with the matter.

As part of the ongoing proceedings, SP Headquarters Harkamal Kaur personally appeared before the Commission and informed members that a detailed inquiry had already been initiated following a written complaint submitted by Raja Warring himself to the Punjab Director General of Police.

The controversy erupted after an audio clip surfaced on social media containing allegedly casteist and objectionable remarks, triggering widespread political debate and public reaction across the state.

Police officials told the Commission that the Cyber Cell has begun a technical investigation to trace the origin of the audio recording and identify the sources responsible for uploading and circulating the clip on various digital platforms.

In order to verify the authenticity of the material, Punjab Police has also approached Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, seeking technical details and digital records linked to the viral content.

Officials stated that under international cyber investigation protocols, responses from global technology companies generally take anywhere between one week and 30 days, depending on the nature and complexity of the request.

The case continues to remain under close scrutiny as authorities attempt to determine whether the audio clip is genuine, manipulated, or part of a coordinated misinformation campaign.
