Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh)— Aiming to mobilize civic participation in public education and address faculty shortages across state-run schools, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini launched the Education Department’s dedicated ‘Volunteer Teacher Registration Portal’ at the Haryana Civil Secretariat on Tuesday. The rollout took place in the presence of State Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda alongside senior administrative officials from the department.
Unveiling the digital platform, Chief Minister Saini noted that retired teachers, ex-servicemen, senior students, and community-minded professionals frequently express a desire to contribute their free time constructively toward public service. The digital portal establishes an organized conduit connecting qualified volunteers with instructional activities in government schools, thereby reinforcing classroom learning and supporting existing teaching staff.
To ensure proper scrutiny and standard of instruction, district-level screening committees headed by Additional Deputy Commissioners will review registered applicants. Each evaluation panel will also include a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to oversee background verification before volunteers receive classroom assignments. Qualified candidates cleared by the committee will subsequently be allotted instructional responsibilities in local schools to aid academic development across Haryana.
