Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): The Haryana Government has launched a comprehensive public welfare push targeting both seasonal health risks and administrative efficiency across the state. In a major health directive timed with the arrival of the monsoon season, Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao announced a state-wide preventive campaign titled “Let us Stop Dengue Together,” designating July as anti-dengue month. To support residents, the administration has made platelet distribution and diagnostic testing completely free of charge at all government-run district hospitals. The minister urged citizens to actively participate in eliminating stagnant water from residential areas, recommending dedicated weekly dry days to disrupt mosquito breeding cycles.
To ensure robust medical infrastructure during the high-risk monsoon period, the state health department has activated twenty-seven government laboratories equipped to perform confirmatory testing at no cost to the public. The state has also placed strict economic controls on the private medical sector, capping the maximum cost of commercial testing at 600 Rupees to prevent predatory pricing. Healthcare officials have been instructed to monitor the implementation closely, advising citizens to seek professional medical evaluation immediately upon experiencing sudden high fevers, severe headaches, or joint pain rather than resorting to self-medication.
Simultaneously, the provincial administration has reinforced its commitment to transparent governance by bringing ten core operations of the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board under the jurisdiction of the Right to Service Act. Officially notified by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, the regulatory overhaul establishes legally binding timeframes for essential administrative tasks. Under the new rules, the department must issue crucial agricultural transaction documents known as J-Forms within a single day, while urgent market sanitation complaints must be addressed within forty-eight hours to support regional farmers and traders.
The expanded legal framework also mandates that standard administrative procedures, including the processing of no-objection certificates, conveyance deeds, and property re-allotments, be completed within fifteen to thirty days. Furthermore, the evaluation of ex-gratia financial claims for agricultural workers injured on duty is capped at a maximum window of sixty days. Local marketing enforcement officers have been formally designated as grievance redressal authorities to oversee compliance, ensuring that any administrative delays are met with swift institutional accountability.
