Haryana Governor Visits Faridabad Schools, Announces ₹20 Lakh Grant for Campus Upgrades and Student Aid

Faridabad (Balwinder Singh)— Emphasizing that holistic child development relies equally on the combined efforts of parents and educators, Haryana Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh visited two government institutions in Faridabad district on Wednesday. Accompanied by First Lady Mitra Ghosh, the Governor inspected facilities at the Government Senior Secondary School in Sector 10 and the Government Model Sanskriti Primary School in Daulatabad. During the visits, Deputy Commissioner Ayush Sinha and members of the respective school management committees welcomed the delegation.

Addressing students, faculty, and parents, Governor Ghosh stressed that education extends far beyond textbooks to encompass athletics, discipline, physical health, and moral values. To bolster student welfare and improve campus infrastructure, the Governor announced a financial grant of ₹10 lakh each for both schools. The allocated funds are designated for school development projects, essential amenity enhancements, and stipends to support economically disadvantaged students.

During his interactive sessions with primary wing classes, Governor Ghosh urged parents to recognize their children’s unique talents and support them without undue pressure. He noted that encouraging open communication and approaching children with empathy fosters a constructive learning environment, enabling young learners to share challenges openly. He also highlighted the foundational role of teachers as mentors who shape character, discipline, and civic responsibility, underscoring that seamless coordination between families and educators is crucial to raising responsible citizens.

The Governor conducted a detailed inspection of both campuses, reviewing drinking water stations, classroom conditions, electricity networks, and sanitation facilities. Observing the absence of a proper sports ground, he directed authorities to arrange adequate playground space for the children. He also reviewed mid-day meal quality to ensure the delivery of nutritious food. During the ceremony, Governor Ghosh felicitated local Asian Junior Hockey gold medalist Kunal Tewatia, alongside corporate representatives and industry leaders recognized for their corporate social responsibility contributions to local school development.
