Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh) — Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda conducted surprise inspections across three state-run schools on Monday, reviewing ground-level infrastructure and administrative operations as part of an ongoing drive to reform the public education system.
The minister inspected the Government Primary School and Government High School in Raipur Roran village in the Nilokheri area of Karnal district, before visiting the PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary School in Saha, Ambala. During these visits, Dhanda assessed classroom conditions, administrative functioning, and basic amenities, including campus cleanliness, safe drinking water, and sanitation facilities.
In an initiative to resolve administrative hurdles on the spot, Dhanda summoned local village sarpanches, panchayat members, and School Management Committee representatives. He visited classrooms directly to evaluate teaching standards, text resource availability, and student concerns, instructing local panchayats to address localized civic issues immediately while pledging swift department-level action for broader academic requirements.
Speaking during the inspection, the education minister announced a phased roadmap to modernize Haryana’s state-run schools into model educational institutions. Under the first phase, the education department has identified 1,500 government schools for comprehensive infrastructure upgrades and academic resourcing, with plans to systematically renovate remaining schools statewide to match private institution standards.
Dhanda warned officials and faculty against negligence, directing educators to perform their duties with dedication while emphasizing that hygienic learning environments are essential for student development. The visits bring the minister’s recent inspection tally to five government schools and three state colleges.
