Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Minister of State for Sports, Youth Affairs, and Law, Gaurav Gautam, stated that co-operation is not merely a department but a strong foundation for India’s rich social and economic framework. Addressing a district-level co-operative awareness seminar in Palwal as the chief guest, Gautam emphasized that moving forward together is the core spirit of the co-operative movement. He added that when society acts collectively, the pace of development accelerates, leading to a prosperous, developed, and self-reliant nation.
Highlighting central and state initiatives, Gautam noted that the co-operative sector has gained fresh momentum under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He referenced key steps such as the creation of a dedicated Ministry of Cooperation, enhanced digital systems, and targeted support for rural economies. Furthermore, he commended Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s leadership in Haryana for fortifying co-operative institutions, ensuring farmers receive essential resources like fertilizers, seeds, credit, and storage facilities to boost their income.
The Minister encouraged youth and women to actively join the co-operative movement to empower rural communities further. Inspecting the exhibition organized at the seminar, he urged attendees to foster trust and mutual growth within their villages and districts. Gautam reiterated that co-operation reflects the fundamental values of Indian culture, positioning it as a pivotal driver for transforming rural livelihoods and steering the country toward economic self-reliance.
