CM Nayab Singh Saini Predicts BJP Government in Punjab in 2027, Slams AAP and Congress Over Drugs

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday predicted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would form the next government in Punjab after the February 2027 Assembly elections. Addressing a youth rally in Bagowal village in the Balachaur constituency, he criticised the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress over drug abuse, corruption and unfulfilled promises.

The rally also saw Ravi Inder Singh Balachaur join the BJP along with several supporters. Welcoming the new entrants, Saini said they would receive respect within the party and described their decision as a sign of growing expectations from the BJP in Punjab.

Saini Urges Young People to Stay Away From Drugs

Addressing the gathering, Saini urged young people to set ambitious goals and prepare for them consistently. He encouraged them to look after their physical and mental well-being, stay away from drugs and despair, and participate in community initiatives alongside their friends.

The Haryana Chief Minister also stressed the importance of sports in engaging young people and building leadership qualities. He said improving rural sports stadiums and providing playgrounds in villages could encourage young people to pursue sports and help keep them away from substance abuse.

Referring to National Unity Day, observed on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary on October 31, Saini called on young people to pledge to stay away from drugs. He credited Patel with bringing around 560 princely states together to help build a united India.

‘BJP Will Form Government in Punjab in February 2027’

Saini said the youth gathering in Bagowal reflected young people’s willingness to work for their families, villages and the future of Punjab.

He called for building a prosperous Punjab where children have access to playgrounds, young people receive opportunities to progress, families get support against drug abuse, and workers are treated with dignity.

Predicting a BJP victory in the 2027 Assembly elections, Saini said a BJP-led government would accelerate development in the state. He also referred to the party’s anti-drug campaign in Punjab, claiming it had received considerable public support.

His remarks come as political parties prepare for the next Punjab Assembly elections, expected in February 2027.

Saini Accuses AAP and Congress of Failing to Curb Drug Abuse

The Haryana Chief Minister accused both the Congress and the AAP of failing to address drug abuse and corruption in Punjab.

Saini said the Congress had promised to eliminate drugs but failed to deliver, adding that voters subsequently removed it from power. He also alleged that the AAP had failed to fulfil its promises to eradicate drugs and provide employment to 25 lakh young people.

He accused the AAP government of relying on unfulfilled promises and claimed that people who raised concerns about drug sales faced police cases. These allegations were made during his political address at the rally.

Highlights Haryana Government’s Development and Welfare Measures

Saini also cited the Haryana government’s initiatives to highlight the BJP’s development agenda. He claimed that the state government had spent thousands of crores of rupees on development projects in villages of different sizes.

He further said Haryana had provided farmers with Rs 16,500 crore in compensation for crop damage over the past 12 years. He also referred to the Lado Lakshmi Yojana, under which eligible women receive Rs 2,100 per month, according to his remarks.

Saini Calls for Better Opportunities to Prevent Youth Migration

Addressing concerns about young people leaving Punjab, Saini said there was nothing wrong with aspiring to work or study abroad, but economic hardship should not force them to leave their homes.

He called for stronger educational institutions, skill development centres, industries, modern farming opportunities and small businesses in Punjab. According to him, these measures could help young people build better futures in their own villages and cities rather than resorting to dangerous migration routes, including the so-called dunki route.

Several political and local representatives attended the rally, including Dera Bhori’s Maharaj Dayal Das, Sardar Raj Bagowal, village sarpanch Naresh Kumar, district president Rajvinder Lakhi and chairman Om Prakash Devi Nagar.
