Gurpreet Singh :- The Bharatiya Janata Party is likely to renominate Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections scheduled in June, according to political sources in the national capital. Discussions are also underway within the party to continue Bittu in the Union Council of Ministers, sources indicated.
Bittu is currently serving as a Rajya Sabha member, with his present term set to conclude in June 2026. His possible renomination is being viewed as part of the BJP’s broader strategy to strengthen its political footprint in Punjab ahead of future electoral contests.
Sources further suggested that the party may assign a significant organisational or election management role to senior leader Sunil Kumar Jakhar as it works on recalibrating its Punjab strategy. However, no official announcement has been made by the BJP regarding any such move.
Political circles have been abuzz with speculation over the BJP’s next steps in Punjab, particularly following recent organisational changes in the state unit. The evolving roles of Bittu and Jakhar are being closely watched as the party prepares its roadmap for the coming months.
With the Rajya Sabha elections approaching, attention is now focused on the BJP’s final decisions and the shape of its political strategy in Punjab, where the party is looking to expand its influence and strengthen its organisational structure.
