A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5 struck central Japan on Monday, prompting a tsunami warning for the western coast of the country, as reported by the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The quake, measuring 7 on the Japanese scale, occurred at 4:10 pm local time, 42 km North-East of Anamizu, Japan, with a depth of 10 km. It rattled buildings in central Tokyo.
