During his Republic Day speech in Ludhiana, Bhagwant Mann announced that he and his wife Dr.Gurpreet Kaur were expecting a baby in March. He said they did not know the baby’s sex and they were happy with either one.  

Regina, 27 January- A 16-year-old boy is charged with second-degree murder in the death of a man in Regina last month.The man died on Dec. 21. A Regina Police Service news release said officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Retallack Street and found an injured man outside. The man, whose name and age has not been released, was taken by paramedics to hospital where he died of his injuries, police said. The youth made his first appearance on the second-degree murder charge on Friday in Regina provincial court.

Calgary, 27 January-At around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, the Calgary Fire Department responded to a 911 call reporting a house fire in the community of Evanston. Fire crews found smoke and flames coming from the basement window upon arrival. Firefighters attacked the flames from the outside and brought the fire under control quickly, according to a news release sent Friday morning. Fire crews searched the basement after receiving notice of someone inside and found one man had died. No one else was inside at the time. (27 January)-Police in southeastern British Columbia are warning backcountry users to be ready for emergencies after a snowmobiler was killed and two skiers had to be rescued in separate incidents in the Rockies this week.RCMP in the Golden-Field detachment say the death happened on Jan. 21 when a snowmobile driven by a 24-year-old man went off trail, down a steep embankment, and hit some trees.
