Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that providing a roof over the head of every resident in the state remains a top priority for the government, with both the central and state administrations executing this task in mission mode. While chairing a review meeting on Thursday regarding the Housing for All Department’s five-year roadmap and action plan under the Haryana Vision-2047, Saini directed the department to identify all remaining eligible families and draft a comprehensive blueprint to ensure they receive proper housing facilities.
The Chief Minister issued strict directives at the Haryana Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh to ensure the integrity of the welfare schemes. Saini warned that strict action would be taken against any officials or employees found responsible for allocating benefits to ineligible individuals. To maintain transparency and prevent the misuse of public funds, he ordered that the lists of all beneficiaries be made public at respective Gram Panchayats for verification, ensuring that the aid goes only to genuinely needy families. Additionally, the Chief Minister instructed officials to offer concessionary registration fees for impoverished nomadic families who face severe economic hardships.
During the meeting, J. Ganesan, the Director General of the Housing for All Department, provided detailed progress reports on various initiatives including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban and Rural), Chief Minister Urban Housing Scheme, Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme 2.0, and the distribution of EWS housing in licensed colonies. Ganesan reported that a total of 23.75 billion rupees in financial assistance has already been distributed across five separate schemes, successfully providing housing facilities to 231,215 families. Furthermore, another 10,649 plots and flats are currently ready for distribution, which the Chief Minister directed should be allotted to eligible families without any delay.
