Rain Triggers Fresh Blockage on Kedarnath Trek Route, Pilgrim Movement Put on Hold

Rudraprayag (Rajeev Sharma): Fresh rainfall has disrupted the Kedarnath pilgrimage in Uttarakhand, with debris and loose stones blocking the pedestrian route near the Chirbasa helipad in Rudraprayag district.

The obstruction has affected the movement of devotees travelling towards the Kedarnath shrine. Following the development, the district administration has deployed teams to clear the debris and restore the affected stretch of the route.

In view of the prevailing conditions, authorities have temporarily suspended the movement of pilgrims from Sonprayag and Gaurikund. The precautionary measure has been taken to prevent devotees from entering potentially unsafe sections of the route.

Officials said the situation is being closely watched, with the administration keeping track of both the weather and the condition of the trekking path.

Pilgrim movement will be regulated based on the safety assessment of the route as clearance work continues.
