Calgary (Rajeev Sharma): A 19-year-old man was seriously injured in a shooting in Calgary’s northwest Carrington community Thursday night, prompting police to appeal for witnesses, CCTV footage and other information.
Calgary Police Service said officers were called at approximately 10 p.m. on Sept. 10, 2026, after receiving multiple reports of a shooting in the 100 block of Carrington Boulevard N.W.
According to police, at least two vehicles were involved, with one vehicle coming to a stop near 144 Avenue N.W. and Carrington Boulevard N.W. Witnesses reported that the suspects then fled the area in an unknown vehicle.
Officers located a 19-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital in serious but stable condition.
No suspects are currently in custody. Police believe the shooting was targeted, but emphasized that such incidents can still put innocent members of the public at risk.
“We continue to be concerned about gun violence in our city,” said Staff Sergeant Geoff Gawlinski of the Calgary Police Service. “We recognize many Calgarians are extremely concerned about these incidents and we are asking for anyone who may have information or CCTV to contact police.”
Anyone who witnessed the shooting, saw suspicious activity in the area or has relevant surveillance footage is asked to contact police.
