Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini reaffirmed his government’s commitment to clean, transparent, and merit-based recruitment during an orientation programme for newly appointed Group-D employees at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula. Speaking on national examination reforms, the Chief Minister stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a high-level expert committee was constituted to overhaul the examination framework following recent paper leak allegations. He emphasized that under the Public Examinations Act, severe measures are being implemented, including up to 10 years of imprisonment and fines of at least 100 million rupees for organized paper-leak syndicates, along with the creation of fast-track courts to ensure swift prosecution.
Taking a sharp aim at the opposition, Chief Minister Saini criticized political rivals for misleading young citizens during protests in New Delhi. He stated that both Haryana and Punjab serve as historical examples of how youth were exploited under previous political regimes. Referring specifically to the current state administration in Punjab, the Chief Minister accused them of playing with the futures of young job seekers, contrasting their actions with Haryana’s transparent recruitment system where appointments are made purely on merit without political favors or illicit payments.
Speaking at the event, Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi congratulated the selected Group-D candidates on joining the state administration. Rastogi highlighted that the transparent selection process stands as a testament to the candidates’ hard work and diligence, providing them with a strong platform to build successful careers while upholding public trust. He urged the new appointees to execute their duties with complete integrity, dedication, and a commitment to public service across all government departments.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the administration, Human Resources Department Commissioner and Secretary P.C. Meena thanked the Chief Minister for guiding and encouraging the new inductees. Meena noted that the distribution of appointment letters reflects public faith in the state’s merit-based recruitment system. The event was attended by several prominent dignitaries, including Human Resources Department Director Mohammad Imran Raza, Panchkula Mayor Sham Lal Bansal, former Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta, Haryana Shivalik Development Board Executive Vice-Chairman Omprakash Devinagar, and Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma.
