Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Public Works Department (Buildings and Roads) Minister Ranbir Gangwa directed departmental officials to ensure that all ongoing infrastructure projects across the state are completed within their stipulated timelines. Chairing a review meeting at the PWD Rest House in Panchkula, the Minister emphasized that no compromise on construction quality will be tolerated, urging officers to adopt coordinated efforts to deliver superior public infrastructure and maintain departmental credibility.
During the session, which included Chief Engineers and Superintending Engineers participating via video conference, Minister Gangwa evaluated 23 major building projects valued at over 10 crore CAD each. He instructed officials to issue formal notices and initiate strict action against contractors or agencies failing to adhere to quality standards or project schedules. To improve inter-departmental efficiency, he ordered the compilation of pending multi-departmental matters to streamline clearances. Furthermore, he mandated the installation of informative project boards at construction sites detailing relevant officer contact numbers to foster public transparency.
Addressing seasonal challenges, the Minister instructed engineering staff—including Executive Engineers, Sub-Divisional Officers, and Junior Engineers—to remain on high alert during the monsoon season. He called for immediate pothole repairs to facilitate smooth traffic movement and ordered the prioritized resolution of public grievances logged on the ‘Mhari Sadak’ mobile application. The meeting also reviewed progress on the development of 21 model roads across Haryana, with senior officials including Advisor to the Chief Minister’s Office Rajiv Yadav and Principal Engineers from various wings in attendance.
