Mohali (Gurpreet Singh): A fitness session ended in tragedy on Wednesday after a 23-year-old man suffered a sudden medical emergency while working out at a gym in Mohali and later died despite being rushed to hospital.
Mukesh, a resident of Chandigarh’s Sector 56, had arrived at a fitness centre in Phase 3B2 along with his wife and a close friend for his regular workout. According to preliminary accounts, he was engaged in a strength-training routine when he unexpectedly collapsed.
People present at the gym said the young man appeared healthy and energetic before the incident. During a workout focused on lower-body exercises, he reportedly experienced discomfort and lost balance before falling unconscious.
Gym trainers and fellow members immediately stopped the session and rushed to provide assistance. He was quickly transported to a nearby private hospital, where medical personnel examined him. However, doctors declared him dead shortly after his arrival.
The sudden death has left family members devastated. Mukesh had recently begun married life after tying the knot with Sandhya earlier this year. Relatives said the couple had been looking forward to building their future together, making the incident even more heartbreaking for the family.
Following the incident, local police reached the hospital and began routine proceedings. Officers recorded statements from family members and others present at the gym before arranging for a post-mortem examination.
