Holistic Development of Children Possible Through Combined Efforts of Parents and Teachers: Governor Prof. Aseem Kumar Ghosh

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Governor Prof. Aseem Kumar Ghosh visited Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary School Nuh-2 and PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary School in Firozpur Namak on Friday to inspect local educational standards and infrastructure. During the visit, the Governor personally reviewed the quality of education, sanitation, drinking water, and electrical systems at both institutions. He engaged directly with primary students in their classrooms, offering words of encouragement and motivating them to study diligently to become exemplary citizens of the nation.

Following his inspection, Prof. Ghosh addressed a gathering of parents and students, asserting that the comprehensive development of children is a shared responsibility between the home and the school. He stated that education is not merely confined to academic curriculum but must encompass physical health, sports, discipline, and the cultivation of moral values. To further support the improvement of student facilities and the learning environment, the Governor announced a grant of ₹10 lakh for each of the two schools.

The Governor made a special appeal to parents to invest more time in their children’s lives, monitoring their interests and behaviours with a gentle approach. He advised against harsh discipline, noting that children flourish and learn more rapidly when treated with affection and understanding. By fostering a friendship with their children, parents can ensure that young learners feel comfortable sharing their problems and concerns, leading to a more positive psychological outlook.

Regarding the role of educators, Prof. Ghosh highlighted that teachers serve as the primary guides and sources of inspiration for the next generation. He emphasized the need for teachers to instil confidence, patriotism, and self-discipline within the student body. He concluded by stating that effective communication and coordination between parents and teachers are essential for securing a bright future for the youth. The Governor was accompanied by his wife, Mitra Ghosh, Waqf Board Administrator Zakir Hussain, and several other high-ranking administrative officials.
