High Alert in Chandigarh and Himachal After Red Fort Blast; Security Tightened Along Borders

New Delhi/Shimla, November 10, 2025 — Following the powerful explosion near Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi, security has been heightened in Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh. Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Tiwari has issued directives to all district Superintendents of Police (SPs) to increase vigilance and tighten border checks.

According to sources, all vehicles entering Himachal from neighboring states are being thoroughly inspected at border checkpoints. Police have been instructed to maintain strict surveillance on suspicious persons and vehicles. Security has also been beefed up at major temples and prominent religious sites across the state.

DGP Tiwari confirmed that police station heads and outpost in-charges have been alerted to remain vigilant and respond swiftly to any suspicious activity.

Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal strongly condemned the blast, calling it a “heinous and heartbreaking act.” He said, “The horrific explosion near the Red Fort has deeply shaken the nation. Those responsible must face the harshest punishment. There should be no leniency for those spreading terror.”

Expressing condolences to the victims’ families, Badal added, “I pray to the Almighty to grant strength to the bereaved families and a speedy recovery to the injured.”
