AAP Leader Manish Sisodia Pays Tribute to Late IPS Officer V. Pooran Kumar, Condemns Caste-Based Discrimination

Chandigarh, October 11 — Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia paid heartfelt tribute to late IPS officer V. Pooran Kumar and met his family to express condolences.

Sisodia expressed deep anguish over the officer’s death, calling it a tragic reflection of the caste-based discrimination still prevailing in the system. “A well-educated, capable son from a respected family was harassed so much—just because he was a Dalit—that he was driven to take his own life,” he said.

He further questioned the country’s conscience, remarking, “If a Dalit IPS officer can face such humiliation, if even the Chief Justice of India can be insulted because of his caste, imagine the horrors an ordinary Dalit citizen must endure.”

Criticizing the current leadership, Sisodia said it was shameful that those in power continue to promote such regressive mindsets while lacking the courage to act against the culprits. “The people in power are pushing the nation back into an era of casteism, hierarchy, and humiliation. This is a warning for every citizen who still chooses silence,” he warned.

Sisodia reaffirmed the Aam Aadmi Party’s solidarity with the family and vowed to continue raising voices against social injustice and caste-based oppression.
