Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Hoists Tricolor in Faridkot, Honors State’s Legacy of Sacrifice

Faridkot (Gurpreet Singh): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led the Independence Day celebrations in Faridkot, unfurling the national flag and taking salute from the parade. In his address, he highlighted Punjab’s pivotal role in India’s freedom struggle and the continued importance of the state in the nation’s progress.

“Punjab has always been at the forefront of defending our country. Our Gurus inspired generations to embrace sacrifice, and it is noteworthy that 80 percent of those who gave their lives for India were Punjabis,” Mann said.

The Chief Minister reflected on Punjab’s resilience, noting the hardships endured during the partition and the challenges faced even after independence. “The freedom we enjoy today has come at a great cost. Punjab has contributed immensely, not only in terms of warriors but also in shaping the spirit of our nation,” he added.

Mann stressed that the development of Punjab is directly linked to the development of India, emphasizing the government’s focus on growth, welfare, and honoring the sacrifices of its people.

The day’s events featured a ceremonial parade, cultural performances, and participation from local officials and citizens, celebrating both the historical legacy and future aspirations of Punjab.
