Air India Flight AI 159 from Ahmedabad to London Cancelled Due to Technical Glitch

Air India London Flight AIC129 Returns to Mumbai Midway After Ahmedabad Crash: Here’s the Latest Update

Ahmedabad (National Times): Air India’s highly anticipated flight AI 159 from Ahmedabad to London was cancelled on Tuesday due to a technical issue, causing disruption for passengers and raising fresh concerns just days after a recent aviation mishap.

The flight, which was scheduled to be the first London-bound service since the recent Air India crash that drew national attention, was to be operated by an aircraft that had arrived earlier in the day from Delhi. However, shortly before boarding, engineers detected a technical fault in the aircraft, prompting the airline to ground the plane as a safety precaution.

“Flight AI 159 from Ahmedabad to London has been cancelled due to an unforeseen technical issue with the incoming aircraft. Passenger safety remains our top priority,” an Air India spokesperson said in a brief statement.

Affected passengers were informed at the airport and offered accommodations and rebooking options. Many expressed frustration at the last-minute cancellation but acknowledged the importance of safety in the wake of the recent tragedy.

The incident comes as Air India attempts to restore confidence among international travelers following the earlier crash, which is still under investigation. The airline had hoped that resuming its London route would signal a return to normal operations.

Officials have not confirmed when the London service will resume, stating that further announcements will be made once the aircraft is cleared and alternative arrangements are finalized.
