Calgary (Rajeev Sharma): Two individuals have been charged in connection with a brutal attack on a Calgary Transit bus driver that occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, May 14. Police responded to the area of Falconridge Boulevard and Castleridge Boulevard N.E. at approximately 1:12 a.m., following reports that two unidentified men had assaulted a driver. It is alleged that the suspects became violent when the driver refused to deviate from the designated bus route.
With the assistance of a passenger who attempted to intervene, the injured driver was able to call for assistance using his radio. He was transported to hospital in critical condition and has since been upgraded to stable.

Investigators reviewed CCTV footage and identified the suspects. By 8 a.m., officers located and arrested two men in the Falconridge area. Darryl Flett, 22, has been charged with aggravated assault, robbery, and failing to comply with a court order. Curtis Baker Spence, 20, faces similar charges, including four counts of failing to comply with a court order. Both men are scheduled to appear in court on Friday, May 16, 2025. Calgary Police thanked witnesses for their prompt actions and urged the public to report any criminal behavior immediately.
