Akhnoor (National Times): In a display of immense courage and leadership, Subedar Kuldeep Chand of the 9 Punjab Regiment made the ultimate sacrifice while leading a counter-infiltration operation in the Keri-Battal area of Sunderbani, Jammu and Kashmir. The operation, which began on the night of April 11, is still in progress, with security forces continuing to flush out infiltrating terrorists.
The White Knight Corps of the Indian Army paid glowing tribute to the fallen soldier, calling his actions a testament to unyielding bravery. “Sub Kuldeep Chand laid down his life while gallantly leading his team. His valor and leadership foiled a major infiltration attempt along the Line of Control,” read a message posted by the Corps on X.
The encounter erupted late Thursday night and is believed to have involved multiple armed infiltrators attempting to breach Indian territory from across the LoC. In the fierce exchange that followed, Subedar Kuldeep’s leadership proved pivotal in halting their advance — but at the heartbreaking cost of his own life.
Army officials and senior leadership have extended their condolences to his family, hailing him as a true hero. “We stand in solidarity with the bereaved family in this hour of grief,” the Army stated.
Subedar Kuldeep Chand’s sacrifice adds to the long list of soldiers who have laid down their lives protecting the nation’s borders. His courage will be remembered as a beacon of inspiration for generations to come.
