Chandigarh, April 2 – Haryana Health Minister Kumari Aarti Singh Rao met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today to discuss various health projects in the state. Union Minister of State for Statistics & Programme Implementation, Planning, and Corporate Affairs, Rao Inderjit Singh, was also present during the meeting.
Kumari Aarti Singh Rao stated that she sought the Prime Minister’s blessings and requested increased support for strengthening healthcare facilities in Haryana. She informed PM Modi that when he launched the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign in Panipat in 2015, the state’s sex ratio was 871 girls per 1,000 boys. Thanks to the Prime Minister’s initiative and the Haryana government’s efforts, this ratio has now improved to 910. The state government is committed to further improving this ratio to achieve gender balance.
Later, speaking to the media, Health Minister Rao welcomed the central government’s decision to include women in the newly structured Waqf Board, ensuring their rights and participation. She emphasized that the Waqf issue is about property security rather than religion. The inclusion of Shia, Sunni, and women representatives in the board will help safeguard the interests of underprivileged sections and Muslim women.
Praising PM Modi as the world’s most popular leader, the Health Minister highlighted his commitment to social welfare. She applauded his efforts in abolishing triple talaq, which has freed Muslim women from the fear of arbitrary divorces. She reiterated that Prime Minister Modi is the greatest ally of women and marginalized communities.
