Chandigarh, March 30, 2025: The campus of Panjab University is reeling following the violent death of Aditya Thakur, a student from Himachal Pradesh, who was murdered on March 28th. The incident has ignited widespread protests and calls for heightened security measures.
Authorities have confirmed that CCTV footage has aided in the identification of the alleged perpetrators, and a large-scale manhunt is now in progress.
“We are committed to apprehending those responsible for this heinous crime,” stated a police spokesperson. “The investigation is proceeding with urgency.”
The university grounds became a focal point for student demonstrations, with large numbers of students demanding immediate justice. Protesters voiced strong concerns regarding campus safety, urging the university administration to implement stricter security protocols to prevent future tragedies.
