Haryana Government to Provide Power Connections to Farmers Who Paid Security by July 2023

Chandigarh, March 20 – Haryana’s Minister for Development and Panchayats, Krishna Lal Panwar, announced that the state government will soon provide power connections of 10 kW (BHP) to 12.5 kW (BHP) to farmers who deposited security for electric tube wells by July 31, 2023.

The minister made this statement while responding to questions from legislators during the Haryana Assembly’s budget session. He emphasized that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, is working to provide 100-yard plots to the poor to ensure housing for everyone in need. The government is not only granting ownership rights over these plots but also facilitating registration for the beneficiaries.

He urged that if any member’s constituency residents have not received ownership rights over a 100-yard plot, they should inform the concerned Panchayat Department officials in writing. The government will ensure that ownership rights are granted to all eligible beneficiaries.

Panwar also informed the assembly about the progress of development work across the state. So far, 4,547 colonies have been regularized, and residential activities have started in 2,200 colonies. The government has spent ₹391 crore on providing electricity and water facilities in these colonies.

He added that if any village wants to establish a cowshed on Panchayat land, the Panchayat Department will lease the land to the village for this purpose. He also stated that under the Khet Khalihaan Yojana, the government will pave the paths to third- and fourth-order fields included in the consolidation process.
