Uttar Pradesh Sikh Gurdwara Coordination Committee Formed; Sardar Parvinder Singh Elected President Unanimously

Lucknow (National Times Bureau) : A significant meeting of Sikh religious and community leaders was held at Vyanjan Banquet Hall in Hazratganj, Lucknow, where representatives from Gurdwara management committees and Sikh social organizations across Uttar Pradesh came together to establish the Uttar Pradesh Sikh Gurdwara Coordination Committee.

During the meeting, senior advocate Sardar Parvinder Singh was unanimously elected as the President of the newly formed committee. The gathering also announced a new executive body comprising office bearers and representatives from various districts of the state. The committee aims to strengthen coordination among Sikh Gurdwaras and social organizations across Uttar Pradesh and address issues affecting the Sikh community. Speaking after his election, President Sardar Parvinder Singh said the organization would work for the welfare of more than 3.5 million Sikhs residing in the state by helping resolve social and day-to-day challenges, improving community outreach, and promoting awareness of government welfare schemes. The committee also plans to encourage dialogue and harmony among different communities, safeguard the religious and linguistic rights guaranteed to minorities under Articles 25 to 30 of the Constitution of India, and establish a dedicated legal panel of Sikh advocates to provide legal assistance and protect human rights whenever required.

Among the key office bearers elected were Gurpreet Singh Dua as Senior Vice President, Harjeet Singh and Balbir Singh as Vice Presidents, while Raminder Pal Singh Rinku, Mandeep Singh Walia, and Upkar Singh were appointed as General Secretaries. Ajit Singh Saluja was named Media Head, and Kamaljit Singh was appointed Publicity Secretary.

The formation of the Uttar Pradesh Sikh Gurdwara Coordination Committee is being viewed as an important step toward strengthening Sikh institutions, promoting community welfare, and ensuring greater representation and coordination across the state.
