Lucknow (Gurpreet Singh): The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Tuesday approved the transfer of 26 hectares (approximately 65 acres) of barren land in Ayodhya free of cost to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to establish a permanent regional hub for the National Security Guard. The land parcel, situated in Pure Lalkhan village within Milkipur tehsil, holds an estimated market valuation of 16.9 crore rupees. The strategic deployment aims to reinforce anti-terror capabilities around Ayodhya Dham and the Ram Mandir complex while securing vital emergency response infrastructure across central and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
State Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna stated that Ayodhya has transformed into a globally prominent religious, cultural, and strategic center following the temple’s consecration, resulting in a sustained, heavy inflow of pilgrims, domestic tourists, and high-profile dignitaries. Given the amplified threat perception and operational sensitivity of the temple town, Khanna noted that establishing an elite, specialized strike detachment within the district had become an imperative safeguard. The administration granted a special regulatory waiver under state revenue guidelines to facilitate the complimentary inter-governmental allotment.
The transfer terms strictly restrict land usage to the NSG regional center, barring any commercial diversion or alternate institutional repurposing. Under the binding agreement, the central agency must execute the proposed infrastructural development within a three-year window, failing which the property will automatically revert to the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Department. Once commissioned, the counter-terrorism center will provide round-the-clock rapid response coverage for Ayodhya while functioning as a forward operational shield for sensitive government installations throughout the surrounding region.
