Sant Guru Ravidas’s Teachings Guide Humanity Toward Equality and Harmony: Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini attended the statue installation ceremony of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas at Jadaula village in Kaithal district on Thursday, stating that the revered saint’s teachings have guided humanity for centuries toward truth, selfless service, and social harmony. Saini emphasized that Guru Ravidas envisioned “Begampura”—an ideal society free from sorrow, injustice, and discrimination—and that the state government remains dedicated to these principles of Antyodaya and inclusive welfare. During the event, the Chief Minister announced a financial grant of ₹31 lakh for the Sant Guru Ravidas Jan Kalyan Samiti.

Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal attended the ceremony as the chief host, alongside former Rajya Sabha MP and event convener Ishwar Singh. Responding to a request by Ishwar Singh to incorporate the life and philosophy of Sant Guru Ravidas into school curriculums, Chief Minister Saini directed departmental officials to initiate the necessary steps. Meghwal addressed the gathering, remarking that the constitutional ideals of liberty, equality, and fraternity are deeply rooted in India’s spiritual heritage and the egalitarian philosophy championed by Guru Ravidas.

Highlighting cultural and welfare initiatives, the Chief Minister detailed that a grand Guru Ravidas Dham is being constructed across five acres in Umri, Kurukshetra, at a cost of ₹124 crore. He also referenced the nationwide Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan launched under Prime Minister Narendra Modi to mark the 650th birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas, which carries sacred soil from the saint’s birthplace in Kashi across Haryana villages to foster social unity.

Detailing state governance achievements, Saini stated that over 200,000 youth have secured government employment through a transparent, merit-based recruitment policy over the past 12 years. He outlined extensive social security measures, including free cashless medical treatment worth ₹4,226 crore for over 3.4 million patients under the Ayushman Bharat and Chirayu schemes, alongside complimentary dialysis facilities in all government hospitals. Additionally, financial assistance has reached 85,815 families for housing repairs under the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Housing Renewal Scheme, while 156,000 homes were provided under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and 32,000 plots under the Chief Minister Awas Yojana. Financial support of ₹1,523 crore has been distributed to 385,000 beneficiaries under the Mukhya Mantri Vivah Shagun Yojana, and over 1 million women receive ₹2,100 per month via the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana.
